I'm currently experimenting with other platforms and themes just to see how I can rethink the way I present Aggregat456 content. You can look here to see the mirror site for this blog. Let me know what you think, or if you have any suggestions as to themes, skins (or even CSS editors), please let me know.

I will duplicate the content on both sites until I make a final decision.

Hey, Enrique (newish reader, first time caller).

Wordpress is great, and I'm sure you'll be much happier with it than with Blogger after a while. The Hemingway theme, though - I don't know, I can only think of a few instances when only having two posts shown (and only as excerpts at that) is a good idea, and I definitely don't think your image and content-heavy style suits it. It looks so pretty, but has always struck me as somewhat useless.

Right now I'm running a theme called W2 by IAMMW. He also has another great simple, monochrome theme: Moo Point. Hope those are helpful jumping off points for more poking around!

Enjoy the move.

stay away from wordpress.COM like the plague. wordpress (the software you download from .ORG) is great software, but automattic (the company behind is seriously uncool.

if i were going to move to a hosted platform, it would probably be to tumblr.

I second the tumblr suggestion. I love that site, but it may not work well for your longer form posts. I have to mention, though, that the all-titles-no-snippets on your current wordpress layout is aggravating. It's so opaque. That being said, I pretty much just use RSS these days and only check in every once and a while to see what websites actually look like.

Thanks for the comments ...

Yeah, the current WP theme is very opaque. I just added it today. I was running something very similar to that used on Adam Greenfield's website (the theme is called "Chaos Theory"), and then I ran a white version of the Hemingway theme. I do not know CSS, XTHML, etc., so I am a little handicapped when it comes to modifying Blogger themes (for example: I really want to get rid of the top banner).

Although Tumblr is really sweet, you're right, it is a little weak especially when it comes to longer posts. I started an account, but I wonder if I should use it as something akin to FFFOUND or

One thing I like about the current WP skin: it emphasizes the idea of text.

my reason for suggesting tumblr is that they allow you full control over your templates, so you can make the content area wider, to accomodate longer posts.

as far as typographic themes for wordpress, you should check out, or the journalist theme:

sunburntkamel ... Thanks for your comments! I do like Tumblr's template control .... I've looked at those other links, and they end up looking quite different when I dump them into my CSS editor.

I will play with Tumblr a little more, though.
